disappointed

don't get your hopes up...this isn't the promised hawaiian vacation blog. i am still waiting for a photo share party with my friends, they have some great photos i want to put on here, so that post will have to wait.

instead, i am posting about the day before i left for hawaii.

any of you who know me well, know that i have some issues with my hair. i am a stress hair cutter. i usually take the scissors into my own hands and then manage to either give myself an accidental mullet or something equally as embarrassing (if there is such a thing.)

anyway, i recently discovered there is a beauty college only a block away from my house, so i decided to relinquish the scissors into some mildly more qualified hands. i had a photo of katie holmes all ready to go, absolutely positive that those beauty school scissors could magically transform me into beautiful joey.

unfortunately, i left the photo sitting on the table next to my front door. so i entered the salon empty handed. i took this as a sign, so when the cute, little gal, who was lucky enough to get me in her chair, asked me what style i had in mind, i said,

"think of me as your blank canvas. i want a new style, ANYTHING you want to do. if you need to practice something, or if you have any fun ideas, just go for it. i am really open to ANYTHING." and it was true. i wanted a dramatic change.

here is the BEFORE shot (the most current photo i have of my hair, a couple months ago):

now prepare yourselves...this is pretty dramatic. drum roll please .... ... .. .. ..
.... ... ....... .... .... .... ....the AFTER:

needless to say, i was highly disappointed in her lack of creativity. honestly, i put just as much effort into transforming the new book i'm reading:

into clark kent:

and that's why i hate paying for haircuts. hell, i can trim my own hair for free!

I could hardly even recognize you it was so drastic! Okay so it's pretty much the same as when you got there, but it looks cute anyway!

I totally thought that Tom Cruise had taken over the blog and was posting all these pictures of Katie. I had no idea that was you!

I like your new do. I'm not brave enough to tell the stylist to go hogwild. I'm afraid I'd get a pink mohawk or something. Those students can't be trusted. Just look at Luke's soccer ball head. (:

You might be lucky that she took the safe route. When I was in hair school, I saw some real hack jobs! Consider yourself lucky that you got out of there without a permed mullet...(I have seen it happen!)

I am really looking forward to your Hawaii posts, even if I am still a little jealous.

Thanks for commenting on my blog. It made my day. (Sometimes I hate hiding in private land)
