i am thankful for. . .

i have been posting things i am thankful for, on facebook, but i want to have a copy of them, here, in case i ever make the blog book i planned on making 2 years ago. i will update it daily until thanksgiving. so, here are my 2012 facebook thankful posts:

11.1.12 Today I am thankful for straws. They add a little pep to an otherwise boring drink. Don't even get me started on tiny umbrellas. I would use tiny umbrellas in every drink, if I wasn't afraid the overkill would cause me to lose the magical feeling I get when one dances lazily upon the rim of my glass...so I save them for very special occasions... like when I drink ginger ale.

11.2.12 Today I am thankful for books on CD. I now travel a lot for my job, so the library's selection of those wonderful, little, silver donuts of love make my trips so much more interesting. I am currently listening to The Baker Street Letters by Michael Robertson.

11.3.12 Today I am thankful for the fact that even though I forgot to turn off my alarm for the weekend, I am able to easily fall back asleep after it rudely awakens me from my comfy, cozy dream state. I am typically able to take lazy advantage of my Saturday mornings. Yes, I am thankful for my friendly relationship with sleep. ZzzZZzzzzz.

11.4.12 Today I am grateful for Hulu Plus and my laptop. They travel with me from room-to-room and keep me company while I do the household chores I hate. Maggie follows me from room-to-room, too, but then she just finds a comfy spot in the sun and falls asleep. I swear she's part cat. Ick. So, thank you Hulu Plus, for being entertaining when Maggie is not.

11.5.12 Today I am thankful for convenient stores. I was seriously parched, today, while driving between home health visits. Yay, for ice cold water from the Shell station. Oh, and the Jolly Rancher popsicle I got to go along with the water. So, maybe I'm just grateful for water and popsicles, regardless of where they come from. Yep.

11.6.12 Today I am thankful I live in my little town, because I failed to vote early. Of course, I had to squeeze my voting time in between home health appointments, so I was thrilled when I rushed into the CROWD of voters, only to be done within 10 minutes. Yep, it's terrific to have my longest wait in "rush hour" traffic never exceed 3 cars backed up at the 4-way stop. Yay, B-town!

11.7.12 Today I am thankful for text messaging. Sometimes, it's difficult to say the words that need to be said and a text makes it possible to ask for help when a voice isn't strong enough.

11.8.12 Today I am thankful for my sisters and the fact that they all own trucks, because I don't have a truck, so when I need something big, I have to call upon them for help. Not only did Michelle let me use her truck, tonight, but she also carried the big thing for me! My sisters are each amazing in many, many ways...and so are trucks.
11.9. 12 Today I am thankful for disposable Kleenex tissues. A single person should NOT go through a Costco 10 pack as quickly as I do, but I don't know what I'd do without them. It would be a very gross experiment to conduct. Handkerchiefs? Sick, no thank you.

11.10.12 Today I am thankful my home has a good heater. I'm not one to get cold easily, but even with all this personal insulation, I am feeling the brrrr. Pulling out the extra blankets, tonight! Bundle up, friends and family, and give thanks for the warmth you find.

11.11.12 Today I am thankful for stale bread and birdseed. I have a large front window, which is perfect for watching the birds (and butterflies in the warmer months) fly in for some tasty treats. I only have one pet, but sometimes I feel a little like Snow White, tucked back in my magical land of flora and fauna. It may look like half an acre of weeds, but to me, it's home, for which I am grateful.

11.12.12 Today I am thankful for The Greek Gods Honey & Strawberry Greek Yogurt. My new favorite snack. Yum! It's okay if you wanna rush out to buy some to try, but be kind enough to leave one on the store shelf, for me!

11.13.12 Today I am grateful for the opportunity to work at a job that makes me enough money to support myself, with the added bonus of actually liking my job. I really do appreciate it on a daily basis.

11.14.12 Today, I am thankful for Pinterest. I have actually tried out a lot of things I've seen on there. I didn't think I would, but I really do find it interesting, educational, and entertaining.

11.15.12 Today I am thankful for my sense of humor. As inappropriate and goofy as it is, it gets me through my daily life with a smile on my face. It also helps that I am surrounded by some pretty hilarious friends and family. I hope you all laughed, today.

11.16.12 Today, I am thankful for my car...even though I was mad at it for having bald tires, thus cancelling my scheduled trip to SLC. Good thing I noticed the tread-pattern baldness before I headed up the road to spend money on Christmas presents. I hope those new tires come with a giant red bow.

11.17.12 Today, I am thankful for fun music. After a crazy night filled with smoke, alarms, prayers for safety, and sadness for the loss of the high school library, I cranked up the tunes to dance and sing with my adorable nieces as we cleaned my little home. It's no secret that I adore books and I am sickened by the loss of years of high school history, but music is what makes me move and builds memories of my own. ***So, raise your glass if you are wrong in all the right ways!***

‎11.18.12 Today, I am thankful for visitors. Sunday dinner with some of my family and then Crystal Patterson Raisor brought me some yummy bread and homemade strawberry jam, which I promptly sampled as soon as she and Karma drove away. Mmmm. My house isn't always clean and presentable, but friendly visitors are always a welcomed treat, with or without yummy presents.

11.19.12 Today I am thankful my library card is a San Juan County library card, because I was able to get some new books on CD at the Monticello library, since our library is closed for renovations for 2 more weeks. Travel time will be so much more enjoyable. I am a happy girl. :)

11.20.12 I am thankful for black shirts. I was very hungry during my home health visits, today, so for lunch I stopped at the Fattboyz feast mobile in Mussi...well, the first bite of BBQ sandwich ended up with 75% of it on my shirt. Thank goodness it just blended right in...and for the rest of the day I got to smell like a yummy sandwich. If my shirt was white, my life as a slob would've been much harder to camouflage.

11.21.12 I am grateful the pies I made for my family's Thanksgiving dessert look as if they may actually be edible. Here's hoping their tastily good looks are not deceiving. I hope you all have a lovely holiday.
