three. three dollar. three dollar haircut.

i'm in the student center computer lounge wasting time while i wait for my haircut appointment. i wish i had my camera with me, because this may be the last opportunity i have to get a photo of me with hair, because i'm getting it cut by a cosmetology STUDENT.

i usually just cut my own hair (i think we all remember the accidental mullet). twice i have successfully begged crystal to cut it, but i decided i would branch out and actually pay for a "real" haircut when i found out that it only costs students three dollars to be experimented on.

when i went up to the desk to get the appointment they told me to plan on being there for 3 to 5 hours. i said, "oh, there's that long of a wait, even if you have an appointment?" and they said, "no, you'll actually be IN THE CHAIR for that long." i'm pretty sure i might fall asleep...or die. this has been an exhausting week, more so than every other time i've said that.

while i was walking through the hall i saw that they are training to wax eyebrows, too, so i went back and paid FOUR dollars to get that done. geez, how come it costs more to rid my face of a relatively small amount of hair than it costs for the removal of an entire head of the stuff? the whole time the girl was waxing my eyebrows i just kept picturing joey's woman eyebrow on friends. that was funny. is it strange that the whole experience was RELAXING to me? i really quite enjoyed it. i may have to redo my monthly budget and allot myself a day of de-sasquatching.

operation get healthy is going well. my skin is more radiant, my hair is softer, my lungs don't feel like they're going to explode, and my whole body just feels happier. nobody ever tells me that i appear to be glowing, though, so maybe it's only noticable to me, or maybe people are just rude. admittedly, i haven't been as active as i should be, but between my games of stand-up guitar hero, and riding a stationary bike while i watch house, biggest loser, and amazing race, i am definetly getting more exercise in than i used to. i'm eating pretty healthily during the week, and allowing myself real food and a treat on the weekends. it's totally doable.

i almost amputated my leg yesterday. i fell off of a tree stump and cut it pretty badly, i'm talking, blood oozing into my sock. no stitches were required or anything, but it is super bruised and sore today. now i don't feel so guilty when i utilize my handicap parking pass.

well, i guess i'll go see about getting something to eat. i realize it's only a quarter after four, but since i'll be sitting in a hair chair for the next 5 hours i better stock up now. if i happen to be bald the next time you see me, maybe instead of shrieking, "ew! what happened to your hair!" you can just say, "wow! you are positively radiant!" and keep in mind, it only cost me three dollars. score.

I used to go to beauty schools and get my hair done. Until they royally screwed it up numerous times. And now I'm wealthy, so I like to drive by them and just throw money out the windows.

So where is the picture of the new hair and eyebrows? Good job on operation get healthy. I need to do that myself.

Ok - I'm laughing my head off at my new favorite word "De-Sasquatching". That is so funny I just might pee my pants. Seriously, reading your blog is relaxing. Everyone needs a good laugh on a daily basis - there's so many opportunities here: the mullet, the 5 hour haircut....

Did you really have to sit in the chair for 3-5 hours? That is unbelievable. I want to see pictures of the cut!
