junk in my trunk

have you ever stopped to think about the many different meanings for the word "trunk"? sadly, that trivial piece of information has taken up hours of my thinking process, but i'm pretty sure it's finally going to pay off. this post is dedicated to all the different trunks i claim ownership of.

i'll start of with the most obvious, i mean come on, my blog is named after an animal that has a trunk. have you ever heard my elephant impression? it's pretty good, if i do say so myself. :)

next i will pack a trunk for my trip to visit 3 old roommates who are now all married with children and living in the phoenix area. i packed that little trunk of mine right into the overhead compartment of this delta plane and took off for a week of fun in the sun. here is my view out of the plane window:

this is bren, who i only lived with for a few months, but she's super awesome so we have remained good friends ever since. i had to laugh at her cool glasses, i'm pretty sure my mom had the same pair...back in 1983.

i got to know her adorable little boy, brody, a whole lot better while i was there. he's such a good kid. here's bren, don, and brody...wonderfully friendly hosts:

i also got to meet a new friend, daniel, while i was staying with bren. we had a yummy bbq and watched the blindside. remember how i used to be in love with jesse james and now he's a fleabag? well watching the blindside and seeing my good friend, sandra, just made me so sad for her. i am so glad she has little louis to keep her smiling now. stupid jesse the jerk.

after a few days at bren's house, my roommate of 5 years, lynz, and her family, picked me up on their way home from cali-forn-i-A. i got to stay with them for the last 3 days of my trip. on monday, we all met at nat's house to go swimming. nat and i lived together for about 6 years before she left me for jared (not the formerly-fat/still ugly dude from subway.) probably a good idea since the two of them are so dang gorgeous and have some way beautiful kids. here are max & lily (lynz's) and logan and lexi (nat's) watching a movie after a hard day of swimming and bubble blowing.

and here's lyndsey, me, and natalie...i know, it's like i'm the ugly stuck in the middle of a gorgeous sandwich. shut up! maybe ONE of us actually got in the water and swam with the kids! did you ever think of that!

i was also able to go visit joseph, lauren, taggart, claire, nate, heather, and cassidee while i was there. grace was in school, i think, so i didn't get to see her, but it was great to see everyone else. baby claire is so adorable.

i packed my trunk again and flew back to my home away from home, just in time to throw a few necessities into the trunk of my car and hit the road for my home-home. here i am chillin in the celica, cruisin down the highway. totally safe.

and this is the view from the other angle. it was very ominous, but beautiful.

i made this super quick trip home to go to my cousin, kelsey's, bridal shower. we made her a dress out of napkins, toilet paper, paper towels, and tissue paper. i think it turned out pretty fancy. and she totally had a 16 candles moment when my nearly-blind grandma felt her up while trying to "inspect the details" of the flowers.

here is my cute niece, hannah montana's, hair. my nieces all have the cutest hair.

before i left, my papa took me out to see a great view...and here i am ruining the landscape shot with my awesome shrek-like grin. nice view of the mountains, eh? they don't call me denali for nothin:

one more photo, from my trunk of memories. i have no idea who this woman is, but i think this shot is so sweet, so i had to share.

and to end this trunk post you can view a video of me taking part in my friend, karen's, farewell-to-singlehood party. as you will see, my mama should have named me beyonce:

Look at you, shaking your junk in the trunk!

And also, that paper wedding dress is awesome.

That's a great picture of some random woman you don't know; right afterwards did she realize you were the stranger in her kitchen and run you out with a broom?

I think my young women would enjoy that dancing game.

WE want to remind you to watch Jesse on Nightline next week. Brien was excited for the interview.

Okay you totally need to post that video again. It says that it's unavailable and I need to see the Beyonce moves. Oh, and how in the world could you not know your own mother?

Very trunk-formative, Beyonce. And not to be the fun-killer, but I hope you're not neglecting your studies with all this galavanting around the country! ...I'm just really jealous - I still have two weeks left of my monster-mester and can feel all kinds of crazy coming on!

Um, that is NOT my mom, Christin. I know it's not, because my mom would NEVER let me post a photo of her on my blog.
