mama should have named me sharpay

a couple of months ago my friends were running a relay race in st. george. i couldn't travel down with them, because i have this stupid thing called "college" going on right now and i couldn't miss my classes, because i had to give a big presentation. i was sad. but then, my fantastical sister, faye, reminded me that her husband is a little bit like superman, cuz he can fly (and he also likes to wear tights, but don't tell him i told you so) and that she could get me some cheapo tickets if i wanted to fly stand-by. um, heck ya, i do.

so then i was happy. see, here i am waiting for my name to be called so that the friendly worker could tell me somebody bailed on their ticket and i could have their spot. see how excited i am?

too bad it snowed and snowed that morning so some of the earlier flights got cancelled, because all those not-so-happy travellers got bumped to the afternoon flights...MY flights...so even though this is what the gate waiting area looked like:

no friendly lady ever called my name. so i was sad.

so then i just pretended that i was in an airport...in PARIS! zee poor gurrl at zee quaint, little cafe could hardly understand me accent when moi ordered zee "seeen-o-meeen rrrroll vis esstrah i-seen," but she finally got it figured out, so i sat down to enjoy watching all zee silly tourists, rushing to catch zeir planes. actually GOING somewhere is so overrated. (i almost had myself convinced)

anyway, faye had to come pick me back up from the airport, and i had a lovely one-night stay at chateaux de faye. it was nice. and then my cool friend, deb, let me come rock out at her house. she has the greatest kids and they don't seem to mind that i was born with no rhythm.

then i went back to school. did some boring stuff and some not-so-boring stuff.

and then a couple weeks ago, actually, during Easter weekend, whenever that was, i tried the st. george thing again. this time i forked out a little extra $ cha-ching $ so that my chances were better. i was sick of missing out on all the fun times. my life is hard. by 5pm on friday afternoon, this is what i was looking at:

and then i got to spend the next 3 days on the set of high school musical 2. actually, it's not a set, it is a real place. a very awesome place. i was living in the lap of luxury. my mama really should have named me sharpay. here she is being rich and famous in st. george:

and here i am being...well...me, in st. george:

here's how i spent Easter sunday. i know...how cool is that?

matt and todd competed in a the SHAC triathlon. they did awesome. i really need to get some of matt's photos loaded onto my computer, so you could see some really fun stuff, but oh well. maybe next week...since i know you're all dying to see me at the tulip festival. until then, bonjour!

that cinnamon roll looked yum-E! At least you didn't get on the stand-by flight and then leave your wallet and ID with your boyfriend. What a mess that would have been!!

After we were eating at Cheesecake Factory I thought of you because you posted pictures of yourself eating there before. Brien is a slacker and is saying that he didn't know you lived that close. (He says he's not a slacker.) The next time we are in the greater SLC area and plan on heading to your side of the valley we will look you up. (You better forward Brien or I your info.)

I am glad you finally got your trip south. It looks like you had some fun times.

Your hair is seriously so cute. It looks better than Sharpay's straw. You look great.

Are you really going to a tulip festival? I wish it was the festival in Woodburn, OR. :-) If by chance you are flying to Holland for the tulips, remind me to teach you some "fun" things to say in Dutch.
