i obtained special permission from faye to share the photos i got with her and her children, parvati patil and kirby, while we were at channel 4 studios.
here we are in the car in the parking lot waiting for the doors to open:

standing by the doors...ready and waiting:

it was sort of a bummer because the 2 best hosts of the show were not there. necia and reagan's whereabouts were not even discussed, but instead we had david osmond as a guest host. here he is yelling at angie...you can see that she is really scared of his manliness:

all i can say is that i am soooooo glad it wasn't his uncle donny or aunt marie, those two drive me insane with their fake cheesiness. they would be great spokespeople for kraft singles...fake cheese.
and here we are after the show. kirby was the only boy in the studio audience so i thought we'd get more air time, but apparently the hosts were jealous of our good looks so they wouldn't let them show our perfection on air. when i pointed out that he was the only male in the audience, david osmond gave kirby a high-five. when we walked away, kirby said, "i'm never going to wash this hand again." it was so funny, like david osmond ranks up there with jesse james or something.

we were lucky enough to run into a few celebrities in the hallway, kirby got to meet one of his favorite television personalities, doug heffernen:

while i got felt up by ellen degeneres:

and parvati patil tried out her modeling skills:

and i took this one of the three of them in honor of my mama..she's not ugly, though:

all-in-all it was a fun hour and a half. and it was free. and one of you gets to benefit from my amazing trivial knowledge. woohoos all around.
i also wanted to share some photos of my new living quarters. here is my house:
here is the desk i scored for a killer deal at ikea. before my mom headed back home we hit the ikea sidewalk sale. i asked if they had any desks available, since i couldn't tell because everything was in boxes...and described in swedish. they had two available, but i couldn't see what they looked like...not even a good picture on the box. the guy told me he'd give me 85% off, which would make the desk $20. it was sold "as is" so i couldn't return it if it was really damaged, but he assured me all the hardware and parts were there. i was sold...and so was the mystery desk. my mom helped me lug it to the car, out of the car, and down the stairs to my room so that i could assemble it. dang! 300 parts later this is what i got for $20. i was so excited. there is a hammerhead size hole on the side, but it's hidden by the trash can, so i don't care.

check out the awesome maroon curtains. jealous?

then i went to buy a nightstand/filing cabinet from k-mart and this little thing cost a couple more dollars than the entire desk. i am getting really good at putting things together, though...even with swedish and spanish instructions.

here's my new umbrella photo for my new room and with that all my shopping-for-decorations fund is gone...did you guys know that textbooks were the biggest rip off? i just spent close to $500 for my books for this semester. freaking yikes! luckily, if i do well and pass my classes, i will be reimbursed, but still, that's a hefty chunk of change.
can you tell that i have money on my brain right now? good thing rona and summer have supported me by buying my artwork. thanks rona and summer, i have you two to thank for my room decor.
anyway, me and feff are going to head over to faye's house tonight for cake and games. it's her husband's birthday, but he has to go to work after cake...he doesn't like the same games we do, since he only likes chess and sometimes checkers...snore.
don't forget to leave a comment. i'll draw and post a winner on sunday, august 22.

Congrats on 100! I've never been to GTU. Those women sort of drive me crazy.
Happy 100th! Bet you never thought you'd make it to 100--and you look SO GOOD! What's your secret?
Wow so you're famous now. Good for you. I heart feff too.
Christin
I have been doing this longer than you and I dont have 100 posts. I guess I better kick it in. I am not a scrapper though so dont pick me to win. That was a great deal you got on your desk. What happened to your other red car that used to be your moms?
I miss you!! I am coming up Tues and Wed, e-mail me with your phone number. cholt@frontiernet.net
Yeah for your 100th post! It was definitely a good one. I'm so glad that you have a blog. It is always so entertaining to read.
Danelle, Danelle. You make me laugh. Doug Heffernan is one lucky guy.
Hey Kayela,
My daddy took his t-bird away...just kidding. I've never liked that car. It's like a freaking tank and it has all sorts of Ford-car issues. They have good trucks, not so much cars, I've discovered. It can't drive at all in any sort of bad weather and so when it's registration expired I got Feff back. My dad was kind enough to get Feff fixed (by a mechanic, not a vet.)
Feff rocks...the thunderbird doesn't. the end.
100! thats coolio. I have loved them all and look forward to the next 100. ps, fold my name the smallest so you know which one to pull out :)
love your stug!
Danelle,
I'm so glad you have a new camera, because while you writing is witty, your photos sure do add to it. And, I get to see how great you look in GREEN, I think you don't wear it often enough.
I can't believe that you and Ella now have basically the same room . . . black and white furniture! She chose it and obviously sent you a message via IKEA. She did a great job painting the desk. She did paint the red black and it covered fine with two coats. Next up is her "dressing table", yes, now that she is 13 she spends way too much time getting dressed.
Congrats on your 100th post, but don't enter me in the drawing, who has time to scrapbook???????????????
love en hugs, Fran
There was so much in this post that I would have to comment even if you weren't giving anything away! Congrats on #100!
I totally want to go to a taping of GTU. So jealous that you won a prize. I usually watch the show, but missed this episode with the Osmond host. (When abouts was this?)
The desk is great. I love your nightstand. Brien hates what I have next to my bed (a little mission-style side table in a cherry finish), because it doesn't match the dark brown finishes on the rest of the furniture. He has a blue, little kid's nightstand with a drawer, so at least my side table looks grown up. I will have to check a K-mart the next time I'm in town.
I love that you got to post faces this time. Although I was looking forward to more of your computer animation skills.
(ps-my giveaway is half finished, hopefully I'll get to do it before the end of August.)
Nel - to answer your question from Lynz's blog - I am back in AZ. Lexi had to start school this past Monday and Jared started a plastic surgery rotation so AZ called us back :( Hope we can get together some time. We will be back in Utah in November...will you still be there?
Now let's get to your 100th post...How is it possible that Parvati Patil is that grown up AND that Faye hasn't aged a day?
Congrats on 100, the move and your astounding trivia knowledge that scored you a prize @ Good Things Utah. You, as always, are amazing!
Love ya and miss you tons!
The way I see it, you should cheat and let me win because the 22nd is my dads birthday, but if i really do win, delete this comment so it doesn't look rigged.... i love you and i am glad you are getting settled. thanks for always supporting my blog. i can't believe how big and darling those 2 kids are!!!
So I stalk your blog semi-regularly and rarely leave a comment. My wife wanted to have another entry in the drawing. Good luck in school.
K so I am probably too late to win, since the 22nd was really Saturday and today is Sunday the 23rd, but that is okay cuz I still love to read your very entertaining blog!! You are definitely one of a kind! We need to have you over sometime. Good luck with school and way too find good shoppin' deals!!!!! I agree with the two better hosts were gone on the day you went bummer! Fun you got to go and see it live!
Mitchel & I weren't sure if we should leave a comment because we didn't want it to look like nepotism, but since this technically isn't a business situation, I guess we're okay.
Miss you tons and can't wait to enjoy the next 100 blogs, especially since now that I don't see you regularly, by the time you call to tell me to check out your blog, I usually already have.
