a weekend with faye

my brother-in-law had a huge test, for work, this weekend. he also had to mow their ginormous lawn before the open house for their house sale on saturday.

SCORE for me.

since he didn't have enough time in his schedule to join his family for the hale theater's production of the scarlet pimpernel, i got the extra ticket! thanks faye. it was such a fun show which was beautifully done. i had the added excitement of never having read, heard, or seen anything about this story, so it was all a pleasant surprise to me. the guy who played percy was cute and funny, too. bonus.

that was friday night. saturday night i got to go out with faye, again. her friend (who also happens to be the human mama of maggie's mom and dad) won tickets to erin's slumber party.

here's a photo of erin, who couldn't keep her hands off of me.

erin is a dj for b98.7 and this party was a mass of women in pajamas trying to sample free stuff and win fun prizes. here's the back of faye's head amongst the crowd of hungry-for-freebies women.

and here's some of what we got to sample:

in theory i should have loved it, but in actuality it was a bit too crowded and disappointing...seeing as how i didn't win anything. but i was able to keep a smile on my face,

because it was still fun to see a few local celebrities

some cute, australian celebrities

and hang out with faye, shari and her younger sister, jannika.

the older sisters:

the younger sisters:

at the party (which really wasn't a sleepover...we were home by 11pm) there was this lady who "talked to angels" who reassured people that all their dead loved ones were still around and watching over them. well, i don't know how i feel about what she does for a living, but i do know that if she recorded her voice i would be asleep in under 2 minutes every night. i was this close to falling asleep in the room...to understand the importance of that you should know that i have NEVER fallen asleep in any public place, not a theater, airplane, church, school, etc. it wasn't that she was boring, it was a very soothing voice and i didn't really care what she was saying, so i just started slipping out. then she said, "i'm getting a message for someone whose birthday is in december..." that's when i came out of my near-slumber state, because faye kicked me. turned out not to be me who was being channeled. whew.

i was glad to find a few chairs that weren't occupied, so i could rest these puppies and watch the people for a while. that carpet is hideous.

anyway, it was a fun weekend. oh, other than the fact that feff broke down. i don't want to talk about it.

Oooohhh, the Scarlett Pimpernel sounds fun! I am glad he was busy so you could have his ticket.

Other than that which we will not mention, it looks like a great weekend! Your life seems super exciting since you moved up north. Wish I was closer so I could invite myself along to your lunch date with Cat.

Sounds like lots of fun! I love the Scarlett Pimpernel. We have tickets to go in a few weeks. Hale Center Theatre does an awesome job on that production.

Sorry about feff. If you need a ride anywhere, let me know. I'm happy to take you.

And Cristy...I too wish you were closer!

Danelle, I don't know if you remeber me, but I came across your blog, which I hope you don't mind and I LOVE it. You are so funny and have a great outlook on life. I admire that and I wish I was more like that. I wish I knew you better when you were in Blanding because you are awesome! I love reading your blog and I'd love to get to know you better. (Hope you don't mind)
