maggie the shark dog

grab a tissue....my cute little maggie has to go to the dentist. yes, it turns out that although she is not my biological child, somehow she inherited my problematic teeth. it's a bit scary to me, because she has to be put completely under. she's just a 5 pound baby, that seems so dangerous.

all of her adult teeth grew in without pushing out her baby teeth. so, she now has two sets of teeth in her mouth. this strategy usually works for sharks, not so much for dogs. all her food has to be teeny tiny and even then it's hard for her to eat. the worst part (for everyone besides maggie) is that the food gets caught between the two rows of teeth and forms quite the reaking stench. not a happy time.

so, i'm off to spend a fortune on the dental care of my DOG. i never thought i'd be THAT sort of person, but hey, i do what i have to do. i wish oprah or ellen would hear our sad tale and send us a giant care package stuffed with cash and goodies. we both deserve them...did you know that i still have baby teeth, too? that's money i'm not willing to spend, though. yes, i look and smell like shrek.

That's so great that your dog inherited your teeth. I wish her the best! (I feel your pain--my kids have double insurance, so we hardly ever get a doctor bill. But holy cow, do we ever have vet bills.)

Poor Mags!! My little Emmy had the same thing going on...only she only had 2 baby teeth that wouldn't come out. They put her to sleep and pulled them out and all was well...so don't worry too much. Isn't it ridiculous how expensive it is though!!
And for the record I have never once thought you looked like Shrek! LOL!
