spring break '09

this past week i headed north for spring break. i know what you're thinking...and i had plans to make those thoughts reality, however a wrench was thrown into my plans when i ended up having to take care of some stuff for my college classes during the break. aaaaaaaaand, since my little car, Feff, died recently, i almost had to scrap the whole trip. thankfully, good old "mom" stepped up and offered to drive me to my destination. i explained to her that it wasn't going to be my usual spring break, that the wet t-shirt contest, belly-button shots, and girls gone wild video shoots would have to be put on hold. she didn't seem too bothered by my replacement plans.

******let me interrupt here, to explain a very crucial point to this blog...okay, you may have read recently that my family has an aversion to being blogged about. well, my friend brien's wife, andrea, left a very useful comment on that post. she suggested that i could still post about my family, but use code names and black out their faces in the photos. i decided to put that wonderful suggestion to use, so this post will be doctored, just a little bit, to depict the events without revealing the true identity of "mom."******

okay, so back to the trip. although i had to do some college stuff, i made some time to visit my friends for a while. here i am with matt and karen, just before a rousing game of phase 10.

in the meantime, "mom" was being picked up by one of her best friends who had recently moved north, after having been her neighbor for nearly 30 years. they were going to go "hang out" for a day or two. "mom" asked if she could borrow my camera and i was more than willing to let her use it, since i didn't have any major plans. well, here are the photos i just downloaded from her memory card:

first stop: top of bar? her friend is the one directly behind her, i didn't bother editing her...she's apparently practiced in the art of dodging incriminating photographs.

next stop: beach (be grateful i didn't post the photos of the "contest" they entered)

stop #3: skydiving (sorry for the hasty editing job, it's difficult to cover up 62-year-old nudity.)

and the last viewable stop on "mom's" spring break getaway: (admittedly, the photo quality is a bit poor, but these were not actually taken with my camera, the first one was sent to my phone from a concerned citizen. and the second one was what i witnessed when i finally arrived on the scene.)

i mean honestly, can i really not take my mom..oops, i mean "mom" anywhere anymore. okay, technically she took me, but still. happy spring break to me...i even lost phase 10.

Okay I LOVE the blurred out faces. You'll have to show me how you do that for my pictures I post with my kids. I'm usually in sweats, no make-up and a ponytail so that white pasty face would REALLY come in handy.

Danelle, you are hilarious! You made me laugh so hard I was crying. Tell aunt ..... that I'm telling my parents what she's been up to while they're doing the lords work. They'll be so disappointed!

So I'm back from my "blog free" week! I have to admit your blog was the first one I hopped over to...and it was SO worth it! You made me laugh so hard I cried! AGAIN! I always knew that **** was the most fun "mom" ever! Dang...too bad you didn't know what she would be up to beforehand...maybe you would have skipped Phase 10!!
