let's all celebrate and have a good time

last night my sister hosted a celebration bbq at her house. it was her husband's birthday and their middle daughter's 5th grade graduation. in my own head, we were also there to celebrate my acceptance into ota school. no one gave me any presents, though, so i'm pretty sure i'm the only one who was thinking this thought.

it was raining harder than i've ever seen it rain here, so the bbq was sort of just a dinner. only the birthday boy braved the rain. he shielded himself and the bbq grill with a handy-dandy umbrella and grilled us all up some tasty burgers. it was a real treat.

anyway, i did manage to get some photos of myself so that it looked like it was a party for me.

oh, and just to prove that i wasn't actually celebrating all by myself, i snapped a few photos of some of the other party chicks.

here is my oldest niece. she seemed to want to play along with my blogging, but she's still my sister's daughter, so i can't technically show her on my blog. which is really too bad, because she's so beautiful. even more so than me, but you can still tell we're related, because our cheerleading styles are almost identical.

after we ate and the other two honorees of the evening opened their gifts, we watched paul blart: mall cop. half of us had seen it before, but it's funny enough to watch twice. besides, my sisters always say that if ricki lake didn't get the part, i could have played kevin james' sister on the king of queens. (even though i don't watch that show because it stresses me out how dumb and mean they are and that nothing ever goes right for them.) what do you think?

oh, this has nothing to do with this post, but i totally burned my shoulder with a curling iron yesterday morning. it was because i got scared when my house almost blew up. the transformer (the thing on top of the utility pole, not a giant robot from cybertron) at the foot of my driveway EXPLODED! my house shook and it scared me half to death. i swear, the strangest things happen in my neighborhood.

Yes you look like Kevin's sister.Crazy. You are funny to make up a party for yourself...you know, in a manner of speaking.

Awesome job for getting into your program! I am super excited for you!

Check this out, there is a lady in my ward who looks JUST like you. She seriously could be your sister. The only difference really is that she is black, but seriously, your twin otherwise. LOL

I'm glad you cleared up the transformer thing because I would have thought you had some wild and crazy phobia of Megatron or something. By the way, did you know they're coming out with the second Transformers movie. It looks about as stupid as the first one but Luke is totally digging it.

Congratulations on getting into your program! I knew you would! I'm glad you celebrated even though you were the only one who knew that you were! :)
I totally think you should have played Doug's sister on KOQ...you would have been so much better than Ricki Lake! LOL!
P.S. I have the same exact blue shirt as you do in those pics!
