one (or more) down

okay, so my new year's resolutions officially began yesterday. hey, i was on vacation for the first week and a half of january, so those days didn't really count. anyway, yesterday i got all the ingredients together for a yummy salad. i have enough that i can eat it for a few days, but because i am sooooo dedicated to these resolutions i am only counting it as one homemade meal. unless, of course, i don't actually make anything else this week...then i will count each salad construction as it's own homemade meal. which is highly possible, since i recently discovered that i can't cook. in fact, here is a photo of the cake i tried to bake (while still on vacation)i still ate it, even though the chocolate lava exploded like the plumbing in my house did a few summers ago.

but here is a picture of my yummy salad. i actually had to grill my own chicken. it also has spinach, romaine lettuce, craisins, mandarin oranges, peanuts and ginger/sesame dressing. mmm...mmm...good. it sort of makes me miss my days at wendy's. don't even talk about the fact that there is more sweet stuff than green stuff...hey, it's a start.

the week before i came back up to school, there were some amazingly gorgeous sunsets on display in b-town. not that my camera can capture exactly how fantastic they were, but here's my attempt to do so.

oh, an update on another one of my resolutions...i sent a snuggie photo of myself to pulsipher predilections, but she wrote me back and said that her prudish readers would stop visiting her blog if she started posting nude photos, so i have to submit something different. still working on that one. it's not MY fault the snuggie design leaves your entire back end exposed for all the kids on the school bus to see. i would put the picture on here, but i'm afraid if i did, megan b's description of me as "the crazy lady" would be easily proven. but trust me, this is a true story.

also while i was home, hannah boo-tana got baptized. she was the dang cutest, little thing you've ever seen.

i, of course, had to speak at her baptism, seeing as how the rest of my family avoids any public displays of human life.

well, that's not true, mitchel played the piano and my dad spoke, so really, it's just sunshine band, faye and mom who don't love the grandkids enough to take part in their special days. it was an honor to take part in such a sweet experience. that little boo, she's a keeper.

i am back in the land of smog and traffic lights. not a fan. not a fan at all. hope all your 2010 resolutions are coming along nicely.

I skimmed the pictures before I started reading and was saddened that you didn't post your completely pornographic picture of yourself.

I had no idea you could defile a Snuggie like that.

Keep working on it.

Awesome update. Salad looked so yummy - it made my tummy growl in jealousy. Also - rockstar shot of the sunset...Wow! What's your feeling about the OT profession? I just registered for some pre-req classes...still debating...

That salad looks awesome, and I also think the cake looks way yummy! Who cares if it is melting, I bet it was good. And that suset picture is gorgeous. I think we have some of the prettiest sunsets ever! Thanks your comment on my photo blog, I would love to do it as a profession, just don't know how to go about it!

Ok, that all makes perfect sense, except for the part where Rani and Danelle somehow know each other. That doesn't make any sense.

Show us the money! I want to see the snuggie pic. I promise I'll still read your blog...(this is Jen, not Dylan) I've got to fix my blogger settings.

my wife loves the pulsipher predilictions blog. It makes me laugh that you want to be featured in a snuggie. Perhaps you should take a nude frontal picture with the snuggie on and just indicate that you were nude in it. I know the imagination would be working on overload but, for those with a weak heart, it may be better.
