laptops, facebook, and friends

so, i finally got my own NEW laptop. i will post photos more regularly now that i can download them onto my own computer. thanks for the hook-up ashlie & allen.

i also got something else last week...no, not herpes, but probably just as annoying...i had to join facebook. i didn't want to, due to the fact that i know myself well enough to know that i will waste too much time following the lives of friends and strangers. however, my classmates are using it as a way to communicate with each other about upcoming assignments, events, tests, parties, etc. so i didn't want to be left out of that loop. i'm going to have to use some major willpower to avoid spending hours in that vortex of wasted time.

and lastly, as i was sitting in the atrium in-between classes, toni (nieves) popped by to say hello. how fun to see a fellow b-towner in the halls of school. she is the first one i've seen, i'm glad she approached me.

now, if only my teacher will call in sick today, it will be a wonderful day. it didn't really start off that way, though...i was stuck, within visual distance, of my exit on the freeway today for 45 minutes. a giant culvert thing and some things that looked like guard rails had smashed a truck. the poor driver had to be life-flighted out. crazy.

What, are you in 1985? You didn't have Facebook?

You're so funny! Facebook's actually not that bad. In the beginning when your looking for friends it can be kind of crazy and time consuming, but it gets old fast. I hardly ever even get on it anymore. That's fun that ran into Toni. Isn't she a sweetheart?

Have fun on facebook!

How many years have your friends wanted you to join facebook and you refused? How long did it take you to join once you found out some random strangers in your class were using it?

Yes Aaron, I like my school friends better than my lifetime friends! But seriously, I know I'll waste time catching up with friends...and when my grades start to drop I'll know who to blame...facebook! At least when I'm checking it for school purposes I can fake that I'm being productive. I actually had to have a school friend TUTOR me on how it works today. That's how stuck in 1985 I am.

I am excited that I can friend you now on facebook, but I promise I will try not to take up too much of your time.

I am excited to hear from you more here, now that you have a laptop and can load your own pictures. I still love reading your blog, probably more so now that I can't see you every once in a while in the halls of the elementary school.
