the loss of nikons and icons

oh, i am so so sad.

death of a ed mcmahon.

death of farrah fawcett.

death of michael jackson.

just when i thought the worst was over, something horrific occurred. i went to have some fun and ended up losing my camera.

words of advice:

don't put your camera in the back pocket of your jeans and then ride around a giant, grassy field on a 4-wheeler. Because while you're searching for your friend's lost cell phone in a field of cow poo, your camera may choose to take a dive into the land of the lost. and by the time you realize it, everyone will be sick of looking for pieces of misplaced technology. hopefully those stinky cows will have a little fun with my beautiful, bright red nikon. if gary larson had anything to do with it, there would be quite the slide show going on in the barn tonight.

i have to say though, other than the loss of the camera, yesterday's adventure was super fun. my arms are still a little sore from driving the 4-wheeler for so long. thanks steph and justin for the hospitality. thanks crystal for the invitation, and for not actually causing me any physical damage when you skillfully landed us (and your brand new car) in a slippery-slidey-clay-muddy ditch. it was intense.

i would show you all the pictures, but...you know.

That's the worst news EVER!! Poor little red Nikon! I hope you get a replacement ASAP!! Wishing I could have seen pics of your skillfully placed friends brand new car in a ditch! I love how you tell a story!

At least it wasn't just lost in your house or fell in a toilet. It's much more exciting when there's a story behind the missing items.

Andrea,

That is so true.

Autumn,

I hope I can replace it soon, also. There are still kids looking for it in the field, but I'm not sure my $5 reward is much of an incentive...and the field is HUGE.

Kristina,

I'm sure Hoff will be fine, the world can only handle so much loss and that would be too much.

Losing a camera is one of the greatest tragedies of all. Especially when there are pictures that haven't been taken off the camera yet.

I hope you can find it. Sending positive thoughts your way. Is it appropriate to say I am praying you get your camera back? That is just a tough loss that I know only too well.
