say no more

have all of you bloggers out there realized that we are contributing to the downfall of the future of mental health? let me explain:

it used to be that when you walked into a grocery store, or any other public place, you would say hello to people and then often stop to chat about what's going on in each others' lives. well i have noticed lately that the people i run into in the grocery store already know what's going on in my life, even though i haven't seen them in months. i understand why, though, because i've been reading about their family vacations, dog bites, baby blessings and birthday celebrations on a regular basis, as well. i can stalk a blog with the best of them.

so, the need for fact-to-face interaction with people is becoming rather obsolete. from now on we'll probably hear a lot more of this type of conversation:

"hey, how are you? i haven't talked with you in ages. what have you been up to?"

"i'm fine. check out my blog."

which will eventually turn into this:

"update your blog."

"ditto."

do you know what that will all lead to? a lot of people with no one to talk to, who will have to start holding conversations with themselves out of pure desperation and lack of vocal chord exercise. and you know what they say about people who talk to themselves all the time, right? hmmm...they must be single.

Fortunately, or sadly, very few people in my real life have blogs!

I wish I could run into you in the grocery store Danelle (not hard enough to knock you down or anything). but since that is not likely any more i LOVE that i can read your blog.
